Got Pictures

I got baby pictures of Nate, they are soo cute!...Now all I need to do is get the digital camera from my mom so that I can get the pictures ready and organized.

Long Weekend

I asked Nate if he would collect some photos from his childhood when he was at home this weekend. Hopefully there will be enough photos there so that I can create the biography portion of the video essay. If not I will have to think of something else..wish me luck..I should be getting the pictures on Tuesday.

I returned the old flash book for and ordered the new one on amazon. The book should be in by Wednesday and I hope to skim through the parts that apply to my project.

Opportunity to get photos

The long weekend is approaching which is also an opportunity to gather photographs and information for my video essay. My subject Nate Mott is going to be going home where he can get the pictures of his childhood and growing up which is a vital part of the biography section of the essay. In addition to this, I will be going home and asking my mother if I can borrow her digital camera to take pictures for the essay, making it easier than developing and scanning in the photographs.

Working with Flash

It was good to work with some aspects of Flash today in class. It just solidifies that we are actually going to create this essay. We passed in our proposals at the end of class so I hope that mine goes well without a hitch. The only thing im not too happy about is having to buy another book for this assignment, I wouldn't care if I wasnt broke. Haah hopefully the bookstore will accept my return.

Snowy Day

Well we are in the middle of a "blizzard" and since I don't have much to do besides watch tv and do homework, I am working on finalizing my proposal and gathering information. Its a good day to get ahead of the game...lets hope its productive!

story board complete

The final proposal is almost done! After my group reviewed my draft, they commented on the organization of my storyboard. haha I must say that I was impressed with my artistic capabilities. I must say that it was so helpful to draw it out. Now all I have left to do is to finish up and edit the proposal. Once all that is done...I can start taking/gathering materials.

Putting Together Ideas

I did not get a chance to blog yesterday, so this is for last night. I pulled all my ideas together and layed everything on the table. I have attempted storyboarding and am getting the hang of it. Now all I have to do is put it together on WOrd and print out those copies. Tomorrow is a day our groups look over what we have done. Hope to get some good feedback

Comments on classmates

I was looking at some of my classmates blogs today. It seemed that the overall consensus showed that when working with groups, each student mapped out their thoughts with eachother's advice. Its cool to see that a lot of people are using their own experiences with travel and interests and others are using the video essay to teach people something. Can't wait to see the finished products. In Class Proposal

In class today, I elaborated on my originial ideas and formatted them in Word. It is easier to see it work when I had it down in an organized format. It is interesting to hear the people's ideas formulating. I hope to create something that is unique and interesting. This project seems really exciting, I know its atypical to be excited about schoolwork, and I could feel differently in a few months, but if I can make this work, it would be so helpful to my professional career. Drafting Ideas

Yesterday I tried to pull together some information regarding my visual essay. Using a piece of paper and a pencil I sketched what I would be creating. With a preliminary storyboard drawn up, it helped to think of what I wanted to accomplish and how much I would be taking on. I bulleted ideas for the proposal and made out a monthly timeline, highlighting goals for each month.
